SUE PENNINGTON

GAAR CORNER — Services for Frances Sue Pennington, 62, Gaar Corner, are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Revs. Robert Ware and Mick Snider will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Pennington died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1944, at Roff to Sidney and Leona King Pierson.

She married Harrell Pennington Jan. 25, 1969.

Mrs. Pennington attended Byng schools. She was an employee for Beautyco Supply for 17 years in Ada, Edmond and Shawnee. For the last two years, she was employed at Pre-Paid Legal Services. Mrs. Pennington was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harrell Pennington, of the home; three daughters, Kimberly Walker, Guthrie, Cindy Pope, Dumas, Texas, and Angela Pennington, Tulsa; one son, Rodney Pennington, Marietta; one sister, Sharon Anson, Ada; and nine grandchildren.

Bearers will be Casey Anson, Chuck Bigham, Lindell Bundy, George King, Bob Quinton and Tim Thomas.

Honorary bearers are Mike Summers, Harold Anson, Wade Pennington, Billy Greenwood, Regie Rowe and Van Reed Jr.

WATAUGA — Graveside service for Marvin D. Cumbie, 75, Watauga, are 2:30 Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada.

Mr. Cumbie died Saturday, April 21, 2007.

ADA — Services for Edna Irene Parker, 97, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Ada Church of the Nazarene, the Revs. Bob Davis and Ark Noel officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in Oklahoma City. She was born June 26, 1909, in Morrilton, Ark., to William Alexander Tillett and Frances Fullbright Tillett.

Mrs. Parker was a longtime member of Ada Church of the Nazarene where she taught Junior High Girls’ Sunday School class for many years, was a member of the Women's Missionary organization and served as chairman of the bereavement committee for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Gideon Auxiliary and in early years belonged to the Home Demonstration Club. She also worked on the Election Board.

She married Clarence Monroe Parker Sr. April 24, 1927, at Holdenville. He died in December 1994.

Survivors include four children, Nina Ruth Smith Barrett, Tulsa; Dr. Clarence M. Parker Jr., Edmond; Robert L. Parker Sr., Bethany; and Frances G. McKinnis, Ada; four granddaughters, Jessie R. Baker, Judith Carson, Pam Oden, and Carol Whitebook; 25 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers are grandsons: Robert L. Parker Jr., Craig B. McKinnis, James P. Smith, Mark Parker, David R. Parker, Thomas D. McKinnis, John E. McKinnis and Timothy K. Parker.

GLENN EPPERLEY

BARTLESVILLE — Services for Glenn Berdell Epperley, 91, were 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Bartlesville, with Dr. C. Mack Roark and Dr. Joe Fowler officiating. Burial followed at Non Cemetery in Hughes County with committal prayers by James Inman, Mr. Epperley’s nephew.

Mr. Epperley died April 20, 2007 at his home in Bartlesville. He was born at Tucumcari, N.M., June 4, 1915, to Nellie and Sherman Epperley.

He was grew-up in Okfuskee County and graduated from Paden High School in 1933. He attended East Central College in Ada and graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in education in 1938.

He taught in the communities of Plainview and Dale before moving to Wichita in 1942. There he worked in a Cessna aircraft construction plant and was a member of the national champion Cessnaires Barbershop Quartet.

He and his family later moved to Stillwater where Mr. Epperley taught vocal music at Stillwater High School. In 1951, he received his master’s degree in music education from the University of Oklahoma.

The Epperleys moved to Bartesville in 1969 where he was a counselor for the State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Epperley was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Epperley married Lois Inman March 11, 1939.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors included two sons, Cecil P. Epperley and wife Kathy, Bartlesville, G. Barry Epperley and wife Jane, Tulsa; one daughter, Susan G. Mueller and husband Stan, Bartlesville; six grandsons, Jeff Epperley, Brad Epperley, Tim Epperley, all of Tulsa, Craig Epperley, Balboa, Calif., Jacob Mueller and wife Susan, Denver, Colo., Scott Mueller, Dallas, Texas; and one granddaughter, Angie Keeter, husband John and children Heidi, Johnny and Mackenzie, Ozark, Mo.

Memorials have been established in Mr. Epperley’s name with the Bartlesville Choral Society. Those who wish to make a donation may do so at, P.O. Box 283, Bartlesville, OK 74005.
