BOBBY SHELTON
BYNG — Services for Bobby Gene Shelton, 69, Byng, are 1 p.m. Friday at Abundant Life Tabernacle, the Rev. Mickey Keith officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Shelton died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1939, at Chickasha to John and Minola Akin Shelton.
He attended grade school at Willard and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1957 as an honor student. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959, owned and operated a domino parlor, “My Place” from 1964 to 2005, and also owned “Quality Storm Shelters” from 1975 until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of Life Community Church where he served as usher and greeter.
He married JoAn Daniel Sept. 22, 1962, at Durant.
Survivors include his wife, JoAn Shelton, of the home; a daughter, Tammy Dew and husband Jimmy, Union Hill; two grandsons, Dustin Dew and fiance, Kala Dobbins; and Dakotta Dew and fiance, Katie Henson; other daughter (niece), Carol Rushton and family, Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Bernidine O'Brien, Ada, Sue Johnson and husband Arley, Ada, and Violet Sliger and husband Bob, Ada; brothers, Clell Shelton, Austin, Texas, Ted Shelton and wife Billie, Ahloso, Bill Shelton, Ada, and Jerry Shelton and wife Elaine, Ada; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Bob Shelton on May 25, 1991; parents, John and Minola Shelton; an infant sister, Patsy June; brother-in-law, Heber O'Brien; sister-in-law, Linda Shelton; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeff and Sylvia Daniel.
Bearers are Mitch Shelton, Michael O'Brien, Jim Johnson, Bobby K. Sliger, Rick Shelton and Jerry Lynn Shelton. Vanoss Baseball Team will serve as honorary bearers.

ART GODDARD
HINTON — Services for Arthur F. “Art” Goddard, 85, Hinton, are 10 a.m. Thursday at Scott Baptist Church in Hinton, the Revs. Bill Blair and Chad Kaminski officiating. Burial follows at Niles Cemetery, Hinton.
Mr. Goddard died Monday April 21, 2008, in Allen. He was born on Sept. 7, 1922, in Covington, Okla., to William F. Goddard and Ida Jeanette Wilson Goddard.
He graduated from Garber High School in 1942 and attended Oklahoma A&M for two years at Stillwater before going to work at Douglas Aircraft Company. He was baptized into the Assembly of God Church in Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Goddard of the home Hinton; a daughter Janice Deaton and husband Hank of Allen; two sons, Don Goddard of Hinton, and Ronnie Goddard and wife Rae Ann of Hinton; seven grandchildren, Tracy Luttrell and husband Shawn of Norman, Tina Smith and husband Aaron of Kenosha, Wis., Todd Goddard and wife Becky of Woodward, Anissa Stine and husband Shawn of Watonga, Kenneth Deaton and wife Julie of Allen, Mike Deaton and wife Carla of Allen, Travis Goddard of Anadarko, a special nephew Terry Goddard of Drummond, Mont., 17 great-grandchildren and a brother Roy Lee Goddard and wife Marlee of Enid, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Goddard, one brother Harold Goddard, two sisters, Rosilee Goddard and Juanita Burrell.
