STRATFORD — Services for Patricia Lea Stone, 77, Stratford, are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Free Will Baptist Church, Center. Burial follows at Lightning Ridge Cemetery, Roff.

Ms. Stone died April 27, 2009.

MELVIN BENEFIEL

ADA — Services for Melvin Emory Benefiel, 80, Ada, are 11 a.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Jerry States will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Benefiel died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born June 19, 1928, at Wichita, Kan., to Henry Otis and Mable Million Benefiel.

He attended Seiling and Enid schools.

Mr. Benefiel was a fireman for the city of Enid for 20 years, retiring as a first lieutenant in 1982. He and his wife moved to Ada in 1982 from Enid. Mr. Benefiel was a 7th Day Adventist and had served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He married Doris Binkley on Sept. 30, 1972.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Benefiel, of the home; four stepchildren, Mark Roberts, Luther, Edward Roberts, Ponca City, Valerie Booth, Round Rock, Texas, and Sandy Ramsey, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; one sister, Vera Benefiel, Del City; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Loyd Benefiel of Mississippi and Glen Benefiel of England, and a sister, Letha Wood of Ames, Okla.

Bearers will be Raymond Tharp, Dan Hermann, Edward Roberts, Ronald Bateman, Pat Stone and Bruce James.

GERTY — Services for Allan Lowell Tatum, 84, Gerty, are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Harmony Baptist Church in Gerty, Rev. David Wilbanks will officiate. Burial will follow at Gerty Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time Thursday.

Mr. Tatum died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at his home.
