COURTNEY ROBERTSON
ADA — Services for Courtney Robertson, 84, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Dean Stone and Jeff Sloan will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
Mr. Robertson died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1924, at Ada to T.A. and Gertie Davis Robertson.
He attended Wilson school and graduated from Vanoss High School. Mr. Robertson retired from Oklahoma State Board of Affairs. He worked in the maintenance department at East Central University for 15 years, and was a building superintendent for the Abbott-Miller Health and Social Service Center for 14 years. Previously, he owned and operated Robertson Refrigeration. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, and had served as a mechanic in the U.S. Army with the 9th Airborne in England, France, and Germany.
He married Jessie Mae Turner on Sept. 11, 1943, at Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae, of the home; a daughter, Joyce Collings and husband Larry, Ada; two sons, Gerald Robertson, Houston, Texas, and Larry Robertson and wife Patty, Ada; grandchildren, Donald Collings, Denver, Colo., Kim Collings, Norman, Steven Shipman and wife Alice, Charlottesville, Va, Julie Robertson, Houston, Texas, Brenna Robertson, San Antonio, Texas, Chad Robertson and wife Lindsey, Norman, and Elliott Alberson, Ada; a great grandson, Chalin Robertson, Norman; and a sister, Irene Chilcoat, Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, George Robertson; a sister, Thelma Adams; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Robertson.
Bearers will be Chad Robertson, Elliott Alberson, Steven Shipman, John Turner, Perry Turner, Donald Collings, and Norvell Turner.

ADA — Graveside services for Nancy G. Phillips, 87, Ada, are 10 a.m. Saturday at Allen Cemetery in Allen, the Rev. Carol Reich officiating. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p.m. Friday evening at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Phillips died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Ada Retirement and Care Center. She was born July 21, 1920, at Western Grove, Ark., to John W. and Ida Potts Jarrett.
She moved to this area by wagon in 1926 from Arkansas with her family and graduated from Allen High School. She then moved to Richmond, Calif., where she lived for 33 years. She worked in the shipyard at Richmond, Calif., for a while during World War II and later was employed by Cutter Pharmaceutical Lab. She moved back to Ada from California in 1973. She was affiliated with Asbury United Methodist Church, Ada. She was a Reach to Recovery volunteer at Valley View Regional Hospital for about 20 years, and active in breast cancer and cancer support groups at Valley View Hospital.
She married Herman W. Phillips March 28, 1942, at Allen. He died Jan. 4, 1974, at Ada.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews including Mary F. Murray, Ada; Philip D. Pate, Branson, Mo.; Donna Orme, North Branch, Minn.; Jean Norman, near Houston, Texas; Don Jarrett, Red Bluff, Calif.; Marty Jarrett Wheat, Brentwood, Calif.; Billy Wayne Jarrett, California; Carolyn Jarrett Beggs, Chapman, Kan.; Jim and Charles W. Jarrett, Valley Springs, Ark.; Minnie Jarrett Lehman, Harrison, Ark.; Bertha Jarrett Wilson, Grand Rapids, Minn.; Phillip Sowards, Tulsa; and Carolyn Sowards Boyles, Allen; several grand-nieces and nephews including A. Scott Murray, Temecula, Calif.; John W. Murray, Greer, S.C.; John Pate, Branson, Mo.; Stephen Pate, Branson, Mo.; Andrew Pate, Alaska; Sarah Pate Penney, Owasso; John Wheat, Brentwood, Calif.; Chondra Wheat Winger, California and Bob Orme, Minnesota; and a special cousin-in-law and friend, Naomi Phillips, Harrison, Ark.
Bearers are A. Scott Murray, John S. Murray, John C. Pate, Stephen Pate, Phillip Sowards and Keenan Murray.

WEWOKA — Services for Peggy Joan Williams, 74, Wewoka, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Criswell Chapel, the Rev. John Haynes officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at a Holdenville hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1933, at Blue Ridge, Texas, to Dennis and Ora Cravens Murley.
She attended school at Melissa, Texas. She worked as a seamstress at Leachco and as a provider. She had also worked in Konawa and Seminole. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Gus Williams in 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Gus Williams, of the home; three sons, Jack Graham, Konawa; Roger Graham and wife Diann, Konawa; and Robert Graham and wife Jerry, Konawa; two daughters, Judy Cook and husband Doug, Ada; and Brenda Rynders, Almond, Wis.; two brothers, Mike Murley, McKinney, Texas; and Billy Doyle Murley, Van Alstyne, Texas; one sister, Olene Duncan, Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Doyle Murley, Brant Murley, Wendel Douglas, Bill Murphy, Jerry Cox, and Ralph Haman.

Mrs. Bartley died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Baptist Village in Ada. She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Comanche to Ed Williams and Katherine Andrews Williams.
She married Boyce Bartley in 1948 in duncan. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bartley attended and graduated from Comanche High School in Comanche. She worked for General Dynamics in administration for 35 years.
Survivors include a sister, Blanche Vallo, Comanche; and 16 nieces and nephews.
