A.D. McDOUGAL

COALGATE — Services for A.D. “Mac” McDougal, 88, Coalgate, are 2 p.m Thursday at Bishop Funeral Service Chapel of Memories, McAlester. The Rev. David McDougal is officiating. Burial follows at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester.

Mr. McDougal died Monday, May 11, 2009, at a Norman veterans’ center. He was born June 19, 1920, at Richville, Okla., to John David and Rosa Sparks McDougal.

He attended elementary schools in Krebs and Bache and graduated from Haileyville High School. Mr. McDougal worked at an aircraft plant in Fort Worth, Texas, before joining the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in the states. After his discharge from the military, Mr. McDougal worked for the United States Naval Ammunitions Depot in construction. Later he was an insurance salesman and worked as a parts salesman at Jack’s Auto Parts in Dallas, Texas. He owned and worked ranches in Jack Fork Mountain property in Counts, Okla., Valley View, Texas, Gerty, Okla., and lastly on Black Creek near Coalgate.

He was married to Wynonah Wilder and later to Dorothy Miller.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Charles Sparks, Dustin; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Phyllis McDougal, Seminole, and Danny and Nancy McDougal, Allen; three sisters, Rose Marie Thornhill, Coalgate, Violet Bryant, Ozark, Mo., and Joyce Ward, Haileyville; seven grandchildren, Lylah Trickett, Tara Edgerly, Charles Sparks, Meloni Warco, Craig McDougal, Julie Mills and Jinger McClure; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa McDougal, and three sisters, Gertrude Dixon, Elsie Harding and Johnny Drummons.

Bearers are Charles Sparks, Craig McDougal, Greg Mills, Roy Hopkins, Rick Eddings and Jeff McClure.

ADA — Services with military honors for Jim B. Pamplin, 81, are 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at The Chapell of the Good Shepherd, McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. at Vamoosa Cemetery, Vamoosa.

He died Monday May 11, 2009. He was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Konawa, Okla., to Henry and Laura Brock Pamplin.

He grew up in the area and was a graduate of Vamoosa High School. He lived in Ada for 50 years and worked as a technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1988 after 41 years of service. In 2000, he moved to Mustang. He was a World War II veteran and served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the 45th Division of the 180th Infantry. He was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Ada.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine, one brother Billy and one sister Wanda Huckleberry.

Survivors include two sons, Vaughn Pamplin and wife Nancy of Mustang and Jim Pamplin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Jack Pamplin, Santa Maria, Calif.; one sister, Wilda Thomas, Weatherford, Texas; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

COTTON WORTCHOW

ROFF — Funeral services for Leroy “Cotton” Wartchow, 75, Roff, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, Ada. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery, Roff. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Adams and assisting will be the Rev. Dan McGee.

Mr. Wartchow died Monday, May 11, 2009, at his residence in Roff. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Union City to Herbert Edmond Wartchow and Hazel A. Haggy Wartchow.

He married Charlene Carolyn Sanders on Oct. 29, 1955, in Union City.

Mr. Wartchow attended Union City Public Schools while growing up and graduated from there in 1954. He moved from Union City to El Reno, where he resided for a little while, then in 1961 he moved from El Reno to Roff, where he had resided ever since. He worked for most of his life as a rancher and for the last 10 years he had trained and showed Border Collie cattle dogs. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Sundowners Stock Dog Association, the Red River Cattle Dog Association, an honorary chapter member of the Roff FFA, and he was on the Meat and Dairy Goat Advisory Board for seven years at the Redlands Community College in El Reno.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Wartchow of the home; one son, Ronnie Wartchow and his wife Connie of Roff; two daughters, Carla Garrett and her husband Gene of Roff, and Connie Smith and her husband Willie of Ada; one brother: Donnie Wartchow and his wife Pat of Noble; two sisters, Nadene Hardesty and Dorothy Brothers both of El Reno; six grandchildren, Keisha and Shane Lemons of Ardmore, Chad and Cristal Wartchow of Roff, Levi Garrett of Roff, Mark and Liz Wartchow of Roff, Justin Smith and Charissa Smith both of Ada; and six great-grandchildren, Garrett and Christian Lemons of Ardmore, Carley Collings, Coy Wartchow, Riley Wartchow, and MaKenzie Wartchow all of Roff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Hazel Wartchow; one brother, Bob Wartchow; and one sister, Betty Helton.

Bearers are Chad Wartchow, Mark Wartchow, Levi Garrett, Justin Smith, Shane Lemons and Wes Reed.

EULESS, Texas — Funeral service for former Euless, Texas, resident, Betty Ruth Cooper, 57, Shawnee, Okla, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Don Sayre, senior adult minister of Trinity Baptist Church, Ada, Okla., officiating.

Burial will be in the Faxon Cemetery.

Ms. Cooper died Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Shawnee. She was born Oct. 21, 1951, in Lawton to J.O. and Georgia B. Myers Cooper.

She graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in music. She worked for the state of Texas as a social worker for several years and for the American Red Cross in Lawton. She also owned and operated the Jet Lube oil change shop in Euless, Texas. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gary W. Cooper and Terry of Ada, Okla.; a nephew, Don Cooper, Lawton; a niece, Qualanda Stolp and her husband, Rick, of Lawton; a great niece, Tiffany A. Page , Lawton; a sister-in-law, Kathy Etheridge and her husband, Doyle, of Lawton; a nephew, Paul Page and his wife, Karen, of Lawton; two great-nieces, Lindsey and Jennifer Stolp, both of Lawton; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Peggy and Bill Hauk of West, Texas; special friends, Darla and Frank Metcalf of Austin, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Her parents, a brother, Don Cooper Sr., and former husband, Bob Ridlehuber, preceded her in death.
