NORMA FLOWERS
COALGATE — Services for Norma Jean (Baxla) Flowers will be Monday May 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Browns Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Rev. Bill Weathers will officiate. Family night will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ms. Flowers died May 6, 2008 in Coalgate at the aage of 71 years. She was born Sept. 12, 1936 in Zenia, Ohio to Oren Edward and Opal Virginia (Walker) Baxla. She attended Peoria High School and married Cecil Flowers Jr. Nov. 8, 1953 in Salome, Ariz. She was a homeaker and a member of the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Coalgate.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil C. Flowers of Ada; three sons, Bruce Alan Flowers and wife Glenda of Phoenix, Ariz., Steven Wayne Flowers and wife Birdie of Platter, Okla., and Dennis Lane Flowers of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Debra Lynn Wood and husband Don of Coalgate, Cynthia Kay Harvey and husband Blu of Broken Arrow; mother-in-law Janie Flowers of Coalgate; sister Roberta June White; four brothers, Larry Baxla and wife Rose Mary of Peoria, Ariz., Donald Baxla and wife Shirley of Sun City West, Ariz., Ronald Baxla of Norwalk, Calif., and Phillip Baxla of Madison, Wis.; three brothers-in-law Rodney Flowers and wife Leslie of Mead, Okla., Ronald Flowers and wife Shirley of Sun City West, Ariz., Jerry Flowers and wife Karen of Cottonwood, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Joy Flowers of Durant and Roxie Flowers of Durant; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Ms. Summers is preceded in death by her parents; sister Mary Alice Johnston; and brother Jimmy Redd.
Honorary Pallbearers include Jeff Pope, Rodney Flowers, Jerry Flowers, Levi Bolgrien, Brandon Flowers and Ronald Flowers.

ADA — Services for Ada resident Nayoma Choate are pending with the Smith-Phillips Funeral Home of Ada. Ms. Choate died May 9, 2008 in Oklahoma City at the age of 82. She was born May 4, 1926.

ADA — Services for Sharon Dene Summers of Ada will be 10 a.m. Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home in Ada. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Officiating will be Mr. Harold Williams.
Ms. Summers died Thursday May 8, 2008 at her residence in Ada at the age of 48. She was born Jan. 31, 1960 in Ada to Meredith Summers and Nadine Tatum Summers. She married Andrew Anderson in 1983 and would later remarry to Jeffrey Armstrong in 1989. He died in 1991.
After graduating high school, Ms. Summers attended East Central University for two years. She was employed by Ada Gaming Center and was a lifelong resident of Ada.
She is survived by two sons, Frankie Anderson and Don Armstrong, both of the home; one sister, Tammy Brand; one niece, Tessa Dveney; one nephew, Travace Dveney; and one great-niece, Rayne Dveney.
Ms. Summers is preceded in death by husband Jeffrey Armstrong and her parents, Meredith and Nadine Summers.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Travace Dveney, David Winters, James Harbin adn Michael Winters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon McDaniel, Trevor McDaniel, Caleb Brown, Greg Harbin and John Gorrell.

SULPHUR — Services for Naomi I. Miller, 86, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Krien Chapel in Sulphur. She died May 8, 2008.

ADA — Graveside services for Jewell Chesser, Ada, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday May 13, 2008 at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Officating will be Rev. Bill Frazier.
Ms. Chesser died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen at the age of 89. She was born Aug. 1, 1918 in Ada to James Roy Jenkins and Elizabeth Ingram Jenkins. She married Ira Raymond Luther in 1934 at Roff. Mr. Luther died in 1976. She later married Deverne Lee Chesser in 1980 in Texas. He died in 2005.
Ms. Chesser worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, she was a lifelong resident of Ada and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by five daughters, Lovena Drymon, Ada, Virginia Phillips, Upland, Calif., Nancy Owens, Roff, Sena Brown, Ada, Pamela Hoggatt of Oil Center; three brothers, Marcus Hollis and Herman Jenkins; five sisters, Charlotte Johnson, Shila Austin, Shirley Martin, Patsy Body and Judy Young; 28 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 50 great-great grandchildren.
Ms. Chesser was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Raymond Luther; her second husband, Deverne Lee Chesser; one son Raymond Luther; three daughters, Doris Gibson, Beverly Ann Luther and Elizabeth Lynn Frazier; her parents, James and Elizabeth Jenkins; four brothers, Lee Roy Jenkins, Bill Jenkins, Dewey Jenkins and J.R. Jenkins Jr.; three sisters, Mildred Jenkins, Laverne Chaddick and Kitty McKay; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ADA-Services for Mr. Courtney Robertson, 84, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Dean Stone and Jeff Sloan will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
Mr. Robertson died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at a local hospital.

LITTLE ELM, TEXAS-Services for Mark Allen Bessire, 41, Little Elm, Texas, are 1:00 p.m. Monday at Crosspointe Church in Ada, Rev. Kellos Walker will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery in the Friendship Community near Sasakwa. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Bessire died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at a Plano, Texas hospital. He was born November 7, 1966 at Canadian, Texas to Benny Lee and Sandra Johnson Bessire. He was reared by his grandmother, Juanita Ruby Bessire. He graduated from Canadian, Texas high school and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He moved to Dallas in 1990 from Canadian.
He married Hilda Ann Carpitche on December 29, 2000. Mr Bessire was a Software Consultant in Health Care and a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Bessire, of the home; a daughter, Abbey Bessire, of the home; a son, Anthony Bessire, of the home; his step-mother, Norma Bessire, Amarillo, TX; and a step-sister, Rhonda Stadler, Amarillo, TX.
Bearers will be Timothy Carpitche, Oscar Carpitche, David Tarver, John Tarver, Stacy Harjo, and John Dickinson.
