SAMUEL BROWN Jr.
HOUSTON, Texas — Services for Samuel Augustus Brown Jr., 90, are 11 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2009, at Spring Woods United Methodist Church, 1711 FM 1960 West,Houston, Texas 77090.
Mr. Brown died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at a veterans' hospitalin Houston. He was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Davis, Okla., to Sam and Alma Brown.
Survivors incude his wife of 24 years, Linda Jaquess Brown; a daughter, Pege Brown Wright and husband John of Clear Lake Shores, Texas; stepdaughters, Holly Gear and husband Randy of Porter, Texas, Angie Davis Cole of Norman, Okla.; five grandchildren, Michelle Wright Umfleet and husband Terry of League City, Texas, Bret Wright of Houston, Texas, Kristin Black of Austin, Texas, Rylea Cole of Norman, Okla., and Raegan Cole of Norman; five great-grandchildren, Samantha and Tanner Brusnighan, Madison, P.J. and Jake Wright.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Brown.
The Browns made their home in Ada in 1948. Mr. Brown was a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corp where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Sam was a business owner while in Ada. He owned Casualty Claims Service, Southeast Marine and The Gun Shop. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, First Methodist Church of Ada and Spring Woods United Methodist Church in Houston Texas. He was employed by State Farm Insurance and Hartford Insurance and a pilot. He was a member and officer of Independent Insurance Adjusters, Kiwanis and Rotary. Sam attended the University of Houston in the early 1950s.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Spring Woods United Methodist Church, Youth Program at 1711 FM 1960 West, Houston Texas 77273.

SULPHUR — Services for "Aunt" Virginia R. Bratcher, 89, Sulphur, are 2 p.m. today at Krine Funeral Home Chapel, Sulphur. She died May 12, 2009.

ROBERT HORTON
ADA — Services for Robert Earl Horton, 41, Ada are 2 p.m. Friday at Abba’s House Worship Center, 5th and Townsend, Revs. Ken Angel and Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Horton died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, near Ada. He was born Nov. 23, 1967, at Ada, Oklahoma to Earl and Elizabeth Williamson Horton.
He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Vanoss High School in 1984.
Mr. Horton was currently self-employed with R & R Construction and Ada Metal Company. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his parents, Earl and Liz Horton, Ada; stepdaughters, Maci and Meriah Teel, both of Ada; one brother, Rickey Horton and wife Tami, Ada; one sister, Terrie Shelton and husband Dick, Ada; nieces, Phileshia Anderson and husband Jesse, Tara Horton and Rikki Horton; nephews, Terrell Delozier and wife Tashina, Rickey Horton Jr., Cody Horton, Ryan Vick and Chase Norman; great-nieces, Jesseca Anderson, Kylee Anderson and Taylan Horton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Ruby Horton and Marie Ramsey.
Bearers will be Rickey Horton Jr., Terrell Delozier, Kent Atwood, Russell Delozier, David Ray Miller, and Robert Turner. Honorary bearers will be Darrell Teel, Farrell Shaw and Landon Littell.
