JEAN NABORS
EUFAULA — Jean Nabors, 99, Eufaula, died June 8, 2008, at Eufaula.
She was born in Ada April 9, 1909, to long time residents Haskell and Ethyl Huddleston.
She graduated from Ada High and East Central. At the age of 10, she became the church pianist and later was church organist for First Baptist Church in Ada for almost 30 years. Mrs. Nabors was active in The Order of Eastern Star and was the State Grand Organist in the 1950s. She taught elementary school in Ada starting at the age of 19 and a Woman's Sunday School class at the Baptist Church until her retirement. She helped in building the first Ada Whitehouse cabin at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly. In 1929 she was elected Camp Queen and accompanied church musician and composer B.B. McKinney for several years.
She lived in Ada almost 70 years.
She and her husband, D.J., moved to Sulpher Springs, Texas, after his retirement. They then moved to McAllen, Texas, Kerrville, Texas, Eufaula and Madill. A few months ago she moved to Eufaula.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Huddleston, her sister Melba Heiland, and her husband D.J. Nabors.
Survivors include by her sisters Jo Davis and Ann Hall; her children Jan Hill, Lexington, Ky., Dr. Jon Nabors, Eufaula, and Judy Holland, Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to The Oklahoma Baptist Retirement Villages.

ADA — Services for Mary Lorene Key Brecheen, 66, Ada, are pending with Criswell Funeral Home. Mrs. Brecheen died Saturday July 12, 2008.

ADA — Services for Pat Byers, 71, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Edward Henson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Ms. Byers died Friday, July 11, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1937, at Bebee, Okla., to Ardal Athen and Gracie Mae Crow Hayes.
She lived in this area all her life and attended Vanoss schools. She was a certified nursing assistant at Valley View Regional Hospital. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include two sons, Don Henson, Seattle, Wash., and Glenn Henson, Ada; two daughters, Sheila Dorgan and husband Howard, Wayne, Okla., and Lynda Ardrey and husband Ray, Mill Creek; her former husband, Tim Cox, Ada; two sisters, Betty Bobo and James, Fort Worth, Texas, and Phyllis Hayes, Ada; two sisters-in-law, Jerry Hayes, Del City, and Dottie Hayes, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Bryce Henson, Janna Coe, Amanda Ratliff, Francis Thomas, Howard Dorgan, Marylen Schultz, Jake Ardrey, Buddy Ray Tarr, Ronnie Tarr Jr., and Sheena Ardrey; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Ray Henson, a sister, Lee Franklin, and two brothers, Calvin Hayes and Junior Hayes; and a granddaughter, Kayla Mae English Henson.
Bearers will be Howard Dorgan, Jake Ardrey, Buddy Ray Tarr and Ronnie Tarr, Jr.
