CAROLYN TOWNSEND
ADA — Services for Carolyn Jean “Brockett” Townsend, 66, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Rev. Claud Baltimore officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Mrs. Townsend died on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born February 16, 1942, in Decatur, Illinois, to Norris Hill Brockett and Justine Alvina Karich Brockett. She graduated from high school at Mattoon, Illinois. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University at Charleston, Illinois, in 1964 with a B. S. in Education and received her Master’s Degree in Education from East Central University in 1990. She moved to this area in 1977 from LaPorte, Indiana.
Mrs. Townsend taught high school English at Bement, Illinois, from 1964-1968; as Motherhood and Domestic Engineer, Urbana, Illinois 1968-1976; Real Estate Sales Associate at Evans Realty in 1976; Real Estate Broker Associate at Evans Realty from 1977-1987; and taught English at Lexington High School in Lexington, Oklahoma, from 1987-1992. She began managing rental property in Ada in 1979, and was property manager for Townsend Properties from 1992 until the present. From 2000 until the present time, she was co-owner of Townsend’s Bottle Shop in Ada, OK, wine, spirits, beer, voted Ada’s favorite for 5 years. She also served as First Vice President of Oklahoma Retail Liquor Association.
She married LeRoy Townsend on February 15, 1991.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy Townsend, of the home; a son, Ben Lowry, Ada; a daughter, Robin Pfeffer and husband Paul, Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Nate, Matthew and Erin; step-children, Pam Townsend, Ada; and Paula Hodges, Ada; two step grandchildren, Heath Hodges, Ada; and Taylor Hodges, Ada; a brother, Richard Brockett and his wife Sarah, Peoria, Illinois; a niece, Kathy Shoemaker; a sister, Lois McCloud and her husband John, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and a nephew, Brian McCloud.
Bearers are Frank Shanklin, Jack Hoover, Jack Witherow, Bud Blackburn, Duard Thomas, Bill Chapman, Todd Allen, and Stuart Ronald. Honorary bearers are Fred Pfeffer, Tonie Waller, Max Hibbard, Tom Willsher and Keith Hildreth.

RALPH PRIEST
ADA — Services for Ralph S. Priest, 93, of Ada will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home in Ada. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Officiating will be Rev. James Crow.
Mr. Priest died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at Jan Fances Care Center. He was born Jan. 8, 1915 in Aaron Spring Okla. to Essy “Jack” Priest and Valma Sanford Priest. He married Loney Hughes Oct. 7, 1934 in Non, Okla.
Mr. priest moved to Ada from Non in 1966 and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Non. He worked a s a farmer for many years.
He was preceded in death by daughter Joyce Johnson; son-in-law Eugene Johnson; sister Goldie Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Orin anderson and Robert Spurlock; two brothers, Samuel and Johnny Priest; one infant granddaughter and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Loney Priest of Ada; three daughters, Charlene McLemore and husband Ray of Prattville, Okla., Sherry Lynn Roach and husband Richard of Tecumseh, Barbara LaVern Bray and husband Lewis of Ada; one sister, Mildred Spurlock of Modesto, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Paulbearers will be Donnie Roach, Scott McLemore, Bobby Johnson, Kevin Osborne, Bill Johnson and Tracy Hatton.

ROSALIE WILLIAMSON
FRANCIS-Graveside services for Rosalie Williamson, 90, Francis, were 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Denny Cemetery, Truman Scroggins officiating.
Mrs. Williamson died on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born October 29, 1917, at Maud, Oklahoma, to William and Mary Harp D’Veney.
She attended Oakman and Byng schools. She was a homemaker and a member of the Francis Church of Christ.
She married Charlie Odoth Williamson on July 18, 1936, at Hickory. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1988.
Survivors include three nieces, Wanda Newlund and husband Rick, Ada; Leota McDaniel and husband James, Atwood, and Linda Farris and husband Mark, Ada; and a nephew, Richard Dveney and wife Linda, Ada.

BEATRICE HERION
RIVERDALE, Ga.-Graveside services for Beatrice Herion, 92, Riverdale, Georgia, formerly of the Ada area, are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Herion died on Thursday, August 14, 2008, in Riverdale, Georgia. She was born August 17, 1915, at Fitzhugh to the late Oscar and Beulah McCrackin Templeton.
She graduated from Fitzhugh High School. She earned her Education and English degrees from East Central University and taught many years in the Roff Public School System and in the Atlanta, Georgia area schools. She previously lived in Sacramento, Calif., and Galveston, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Herion. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bonnye Leary and Peggy Haas.
