JACK WARD

GALEY — Services for Jack Ward, 83, Galey, are 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, Stratford.

Mr. Ward died Aug. 31, 2009, at Oklahoma City. He was born May 5, 1926, at Galey to James and Irene Blevins Ward.

Mr. Ward was a rancher and owned and operated an exterminating service for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He lived in the Ada area most of his life and was a member of Church of God in Galey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Edward Ward; and two sisters, Helen and Patsy.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Snell, Galey; two granddaughters, Katie Jones, Sebastian, Fla., and Heather Cavanah, Warner Robins, Ga.; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Ryanlee; and his former wife, Julia Turner, Warner Robins, Ga.

KONAWA — Memorial graveside services for Victor Franklin "Butch" Friar, 59, longtime resident of Konawa and Ada, are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Hannah Cemetery located near Dustin.

Mr. Friar died Sept. 1, 2009, at Kingfisher.

EDMOND — Graveside services for Nearther Mozella “Mozell” Burris, 72, Edmond, are 1 p.m. Saturday at Boiling Springs Cemetery near Lula. Ms. Burris died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at her home.
