ROY BRELAND
COALGATE — Services for Roy Edward "Miller" Breland, 45, formerly of Coalgate, are 2 p.m. Friday at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial follows at Cairo Cemetery. Family night will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Breland died Oct. 5, 2008, at Baton Rouge, La.

LAVERNE TERRY
STONEWALL — Services for LaVerne Chaddick Terry, 88, Stonewall, are 2:30 p.m. Friday at Stonewall First Baptist Church, the Rev. Ray Moffiet will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Terry died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1919, at Byrd’s Mill, near Fittstown to William Frederick and Minnie Lee Jones Lynch.
She attended schools at Franks and McLish and graduated from McLish High School
She married Max Chaddick Feb. 19, 1938. He died July 3, 1995. She married Bill Terry Jan. 1, 1998. He died April 23, 2004.
She and her husband moved to Pauls Valley in the early 1950s where they owned a skating rink and later a dress shop. She was the first woman juror in Garvin County. She and her family moved back to the Stonewall area in the early 1960s.
Mrs. Terry was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church in Stonewall. In 2005, she chartered the Red Hat Society in Stonewall.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Estes and husband Gene, Bixby, and Susan Mills and husband Jim, Stonewall; grandchildren, Park Estes, Van Buren, Ark., Scott Estes, Tulsa, Andrea Cartwright, Denton, Texas, and Max Mills, Denton, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lloyd Lynch and Ore Lynch, and four sisters, Leola Pleasant, Adee B. Jones, Inez Hines, and Loraine Lynch.
Bearers will be Park Estes, Scott Estes, Roger Cartwright, Richard Truitt, Greg Curtis and Jim Goss.

VIRGINIA EVANS
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Services for Virginia Boyd Evans, 92, Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Ada, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Vicki Crooks will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Evans died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1916, at Robinson, Ill., to Harry L. and Bernice M. Rhodes Boyd.
She came to this area in 1929 from Robinson, Ill. She attended Vanoss school and graduated from Horace Mann High School in Ada. She received a bachelor of art’s degree in education and a master’s degree from East Central State College.
She married Clyde J. “Hank” Evans Nov. 9, 1940. He died Nov. 3, 1994, in Ada.
Mrs. Evans taught elementary and junior high and high school English, retiring after 36 years of service. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Ada, where she was a member of the Wimodausis Guild, the CWF, and had served on many committees. She also taught the Dorcas Sunday school class.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel B. Evans and wife Shirley Jean, Corpus Christi, Texas, and James C. Evans and wife Lou Anne, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a sister, Udene Cummings, Plano, Texas; a brother, Harry L. Boyd, Purcell; four grandsons, Eric C. Evans, Corpus Christi, Texas, Jamie B. Evans, Loganville, Ga., Matthew D. Evans, Winder, Georgia, and Blair M. Evans, Barnwell, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Jamie B. Evans, Matthew D. Evans, Blair M. Evans, Eric C. Evans, and her nephews, Boyd Cummings, Steve Boyd, and Chris Boyd.
