KRISTIN HARRIS

OAKLAND, Texas — Funeral services for Kristin Bell King Harris, 21, Oakland, were 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Don McCormick and Richard Methvin officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris died Oct. 4, 2009. She was born Aug. 17, 1988, in Temple, Texas, to Ricky Don and Lynnette Jan King.

She was a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church and an employee of TDCJ.

Survivors include a son, Hagen Don Harris, daughter, Kaylee Lynn Harris of Oakland; father, Ricky Don King of Jena, La.; mother, Lynnette King, Ada, Okla.; sisters, Kasey Jo King, Ada, and Kayla Mae King, Oakland; grandparents, Tony and Joe King, Oakland, Sue Talpas, Ada, John Talpas, Harker Heights, Texas, uncles and aunts, Tammy Talpas, Austin, Texas, Randy and Sherry King, Oakland, Tim and Mellissa King, Rusk, Dale King, Oakland; and numerous cousins and friends.

Bearers included Tim King, Randy King, Dale King, Timmy King, Don Wayne Moore and Bill Bowman. Honorary bearers were Erick Warren, Jaylon Bolton, Harley Tucker and Austin Powell.

COALGATE — Services for Ikey Franklin Traylor, 80, Olney, are 2 p.m. Monday at Brown's Funeral Chapel. Burial follows at Coalgate Cemetery.

MARGGIE RUSH

TUPELO — Services for Marguerite “Marggie” Joan Rush, 92, Tupelo, are 2 p.m Tuesday at Tupelo Church of Christ, Wendell Ingram and Allen Brott will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, near Clarita.

Mrs. Rush died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at an Ada hospital. She was born May 2, 1917, to Mike and Elizabeth Novak in Illinois.

She graduated from high school in St. Louis, Mo., and attended college. She was employed processing produce in Salinas, Calif. She moved back to Tupelo in May 1974 from Salinas. She was affiliated with the Tupelo Church of Christ.

She and Edgar Rush were married July 17, 1942.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar, Tupelo; one son, Edgar Michael “Mike” Rush and wife Lynda, Sheldon, Missouri; one granddaughter, Janie Williams and husband Johnny, Sheldon, Mo.; one great-granddaughter, Courtney Williams; and one great-grandson Michael Williams.

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

LU ROLEN

ALLEN — Services for Lulajane “Lu” Rolen, 72, Allen, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, the Rev. Buddy Drake officiating. Burial follows at Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at Criswell Funeral Home’s Allen chapel from 3 p.m. Monday until the time of the service.

Ms. Rolen died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at an Ada hospital. She was born May 12, 1937, at Oklahoma City to C.E. and Willoria Mae Curry Wright.

She was a graduate of Choctaw High School, attended Rose State College two years and was a professional self-employed seamstress. Ms. Rolen moved to the Allen area in 1999 from Fort Towson, Okla. She was affiliated with the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society in Allen.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin Margerum and wife Carolyn, Allen, Chris Rolen and wife Stacy, Paris, Texas, and Kelly Rolen and wife Michelle, Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Shelly Rolen, of the home; one brother Cyrus and wife Jeannie Wright, Yukon, Okla.; three sisters, Juanita and husband Warner Fowler, Fort Towson, Okla., Mattie Kinnett and husband Darryl, Meeker, and Linda Davis and husband Bob, Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Tatum; and two granddaughters, Heather Johnson and Shalanda Johnson Claxton.

Bearers will be Larry Wright, Shane Kinnett, Robert Davis, Ricky Fowler, Brad Bearden and Ferman Traylor. Honorary bearers are Joe Fowler and Troy Fowler.

MILL CREEK — Services for Betty Lou Anderson, 86, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Mill Creek Methodist Church. Burial follows at Mill Creek Cemetery.

Ms. Anderson died Oct. 8, 2009, at Sulphur.

ANNA SHIRLEY

KONAWA — Services for Anna Lee Griffis Shirley, 95, Konawa, are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at First United Methodist Church of Konawa.

Mrs. Shirley died Oct. 5, 2009, at Carrollton, Texas. She was born Nov. 2, 1913, at Amity, Ark., to Horace Benjamin and Margaret Adelaide Griffis.

She was a 1931 graduate of Ada High School, 1934 graduate of East Central college with a bachelor's degree in speech, English and dramatics. She received a master's degree in teaching from East Central in 1956.

Mrs. Shirley taught speech, English and drama at Fitzhugh, Asher, Maud and Konawa public schools in the 1930s. She taught first grade/kindergarten at Konawa Public School from 1956 until retirement in 1979. She was a civilian employee of the U.S. Navy at San Diego, Calif., during World War II.

She was organist for First United Methodist Church in Ada while attending college. She later served more than 30 years as organist for First United Methodist Church in Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Haskell Griffis, Ada; and her spouse.

Survivors include three children, Joe Shirley, Coppell, Texas, Frank Shirley, Konawa, and Mary Delane Shirley, Lakeside, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, James R. Shirley, Naples, Italy, Lori Taylor, Norfolk, Va., and Angela Hawpe, Oklahoma City.
