Sounding Board for August 24, 2008

"I just called about the sheriff who said 'people are no good.' I agree with him."

"Is the rumor true that Ada City Schools has financial concerns? It is interesting that people have to forgo groceries to pay for public education system.

Ada is now charging $3 per day per child for after school care and lunches and $2.25 for lunches. How is single parents and others who do not qualify for reduced meals supposed to pay this? Check around, there are many schools who have $1 lunches and free afterschool."

"This is regarding a recent letter to the editor concerning the placement of stories concerning child molesters and drug arrests on the front page of the paper. It would be nice if we could all share the writer's rose colored glasses. However, with children at a local elementary school I want to know by looking at the front page of the paper when a man possessing child porn is lving just across the street. This is the case just a few months ago. We live in a vile world. I want the news clearly visible to myself and the community to protect my children and others."

"Since school is starting, I have a word for parents for parents to tell their children. The choices you make will seal your fate."
