Sounding Board Oct. 5, 2008

“ I just want to say good job to the city of Ada on fixing the intersection at Fourth and Broadway.”

BC: I’m sure they appreciate that.

“I read the article in last week’s paper about the judge’s finding in the lawsuit that Bill Peterson and a bunch of others broughtand I was just thrilled to death that the judge ruled the way he did. It made me believe in the justice system more and right was done and the judge did find in the right way. It made me think that there is hope and the jutice system will work which it didn’t here in Ada. Then after reading Mr. Beasley’s editorial a few days later, it sounds like he’s still one of the good old boys here in Ada and still fighting with the establishment. That bothered me a great deal.”

“The media keeps harping on the fact of Sarah Palin not having as much experience as necessary to run for the office of vice president. But didn’t a few years back, didn’t the Democrats run a peanut farmer for president? The highest office in the nation? A peanut farmer. Imagine that.”

“This is in regards to your editorial page, I enjoy it and its features very much. I’m just wondering why you only publish the editorial page two days a week. I don’t understand why it’s only two days a week, every other paper I’ve ever read is everyday and not two days a week. It's probably a short answer, shorter than this question anyway.”

BC: One word: economy.
