Penni Anne Dixon

Penni Anne Dixon, a resident of Paoli, was born Sept. 25, 1964, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Shirley (Lancaster) Dixon and Floyd Eugene Dixon. She passed away Oct. 4, 2009, at Oklahoma City, Okla., at the age of 45 years and 9 days.

She was a Baptist. She was raised in Wynnewood and graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1982.

She married in 1982, during this time her two children, Erik and Whitney, were born.

Penni moved to Paoli on July 4, 2006, and spent the remainder of her life in Paoli.

Penni enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, swimming and strolling around the ranch collecting rocks. She had a special talent for interior decorating, but her greatest talent was taking care of her loved ones.

She is survived by her parents, Floyd and Shirley Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla.; spouse, Roger Meritt of the home; daughter, Whitney Dawn McBroom of Norman, Okla.; son, Christopher Erik McBroom of Paoli, Okla.; son Jeremiah Meritt of Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughter, Peyton; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Dixon) and Steve Spain of Ardmore, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Eugene II and Janice Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen Eugene and Sherri Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla.; two nieces, Sarah LaRaye Spain and Rachel Nicole Spain; and four nephews: Kaleb Dixon Spain, Ethan Layne Dixon, Josh Hillis and Kurt Hillis.

Services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Okla., officiated by Rev. Wayne Wall.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood, Okla. Send online condolences to www.dearmanfuneralhome.com.
