Donald Gale Phillips
Donald Gale Phillips of Katie, Okla., was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Allen, Okla., to Leonard A. and Pearl (Kyle) Phillips and departed this life Oct. 8, 2009, at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Phillips grew up attending school in Walker, Pauls Valley and Elmore City. Mr. Phillips enjoyed the outdoors, loved to weld and build things. In his younger days he loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Phillips retired from the Kerr McGee Refinery as a pipefitter. He was a deacon of the Katie Missionary Baptist Church. His hobbies included dominoes and breakfast at the Badger Den.
The highlight of his life was his family and little dog Suger. The most important thing to him was family and faith.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his son: Paul Alan Phillips and his wife Kathie of Elmore City, Okla.; daughter: Carla Jean Brady and her husband Charles E. Brady II; brother: “Jimmy” James Rolland Phillips of Oklahoma City; sister: Frances Ann Jones and her husband Ron Jones of Joplin, Mo.; son-in-law: Roy Williams; two grandchildren: Michelle Thompson and her husband Brent; Charles E. Brady III and his wife Penni; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob Thompson, Kaitlyn Thompson, Charles Edward Brady IV and Calin Lou Brady.
Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his wife: Wilma Jean Phillips; parents: Leonard and Pearl Phillips; daughter: Linda Gale Williams; and brother: Floyd Emerson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in the Katie Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Roady and Bro. Sammy Bray officiating.
