After time spent in OKC and Texas, Barbara returned to Pauls Valley and later moved to Norman. Her career focused on specialty women’s clothing and accessories, both as a proprietor of stores in Pauls Valley and Oklahoma City and as manager with the Lilly Rubin boutiques in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas. She worked her last stint “in the business” in Norman. She retired in 2004.
Barbara and her husband worshipped at CrossPointe Church in Norman, in addition to Pauls Valley Presbyterian Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 29 at 2 p.m. at Pauls Valley Presbyterian Church, with a light reception to follow, 301 N. Walnut Street. Officiating at Barbara’s memorial will be Pastor Joe Grizzle.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (www.komen.org) in the name of her daughter, or Clays Crossing (www.claycrossing.com).
She will be greatly missed by her family and her “oh so many friends.” We all rest peacefully knowing Barbara is with her savior Jesus Christ. Rest peacefully our sweet angel.
