Tina Nation

Tina Nation of Pauls Valley, Okla., was born to Bill and Ophelia (Newberry) O’Neal on June 14, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, and passed from this life on October 26, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the age of 47 years.

Tina grew up in Pauls Valley and as a child she enjoyed going to rodeos and riding horses with Pa John.

She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1980 and later married the love of her life, Greg Nation.

Tina was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pauls Valley, and while growing up was active in their youth group. Her children and husband were the highlights of her life. The most important thing she taught her family was to be true to yourself.

Mrs. Nation is survived by her husband: Greg Nation of the home; one son: Tyler O’Neal Nation of Pauls Valley, two daughters: Shannon Simone Nation of Pauls Valley and Kelly Lynn Nation of Pauls Valley; parents: Bill and Ophelia O’Neal of Pauls Valley; father-in-laws: Jim Nation of Dallas, Texs, and Max Marquardt of Norman, Okla.; sister-in-law: Tracy Nation of La Jolla, Calif.; uncles: R.L. O’Neal of Pauls Valley, Wendell O’Neal of Lindsay, Okla., Gary O’Neal and wife Karen of Wynnewood, Okla., Johnny Newberry and wife Norma of San Antonio, Texas, and Willis Newberry and wife Elva of San Antonio, Texas; aunts: Jo Dean Smith and husband Mel of Pauls Valley and Julia Roebuck and husband Phil of Tecumseh, Okla.; and many beloved cousins.

She is preceded in death by two infant brothers: Billy Lynn O’Neal, and Rickey Jo O’Neal; grandparents: John and Lona Newberry, and Albert and Rena O’Neal; mother-in-law: Barbara Nation Marquardt; uncle: Glenn O’Neal; and aunts: Lola Weatherford, Sylvia O’Neal and Irene O’Neal.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nation are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Pauls Valley with the Rev. Tim Bowen and Lance Whaley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

Visitation at Wooster Funeral Home on Wednesday is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
