Badgers look to end season with win

The Elmore City-Pernell Badgers playoff hopes disappeared last week in a loss to Healdton. Now in week 10, ECP will be playing for pride and a chance to be one of only a few teams in the state that will end their season with a win.

The only teams in the state that are assured of a win in their final game are the eight state champions. ECP is looking to be among those teams that will finish the year with a win.

In front of the Badgers is Bray-Doyle. The Donkeys have struggled all season but will be looking to build on next year with an upset of the Badgers.

“This is our last game,” Elmore-Pernell head coach Sam Sharp said. “We want to go over there and perform well and end on a positive note.”

Elmore will be facing a Bray-Doyle offense that runs a hodge-podge of different formations. The Donkeys like to run the ball most of the time but have also been putting the ball in the air lately.

The Bray defense is much like their offense, a hodge-podge of different formations. They like to move their people around a lot trying to confuse the offense and catch them off guard.

ECP will be looking to finish out a second straight winning season as they look to finish 6-4 with a win Friday night.

“We want our kids to be aggressive in the right way,” Sharp said. “I want to see us be explosive on both sides of the ball and to take care of business.”

The Badgers and Donkeys will kick off at 7:30 p.m. in Bray.
