Southwest Church of Christ, 505 W. 17th, hosts a seminar with Dave Miller April 4-6 . “The Silencing of God” seminar is 7-8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. -11 a.m. Saturday in East Central University Ballroom, 1100 E. 14th Street. Sunday’s seminar will be at Southwest Church of Christ. Sunday class begins at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m.
“The United States of America is undergoing swift transition as the liberal forces of “political correctness” and an unrestrained judiciary wage a vociferous culture war,” said Miller.
“Their objective: to expunge every manifestation of God, Christ and the Bible from American life, but America’s intimate connection to Christianity from the very beginning was embedded deply in our public way of life.
“Although the adversaries of God have been steadily chipping away at our foundations for 50 years, many indications of our nation’s Christian heritage remain,” he said.
The seminar addresses such questions as:
Did the Founding Fathers advocate “separation of church and state?”
Did the Founding Fathers oppose public expressions of religion?
Did the Founding Fathers embrace “pluralism” and “multiculturalism”?
Did the Founding Fathers advocate acceptance of all religions?
Was America originally intended to be a “Christian nation”?
What were the Founders’ views on moral issues — like homosexuality?
What can Christians do to reclaim the nation from social liberals?
What can Christians do to save the nation from moral and spiritual destruction?
“The Silencing of God” seminar is designed to awaken Christians to the urgent need to recall our nation form the moral and spiritual depths to which she has plunged,” Miller said.
