Seminar on marriage offered
The Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Dr., is hosting a marriage seminar conducted by Dr. Waymon Hinson. The seminar will focus on what God had in mind with marriage. Dr. Hinson served as Professor, Department of Marriage and Family Therapy, at Abilene Christian University for 24 years. He is currently Director, Office of Strong Family Development, for the Chickasaw Nation. The public is invited to attend Sacred Marriage and the Holiness of God beginning Sunday, May 31 at 5:00 p.m. The seminar will be held for 5 consecutive Sunday evenings May 31 – June 28.
Church offers lessons on the Diety of Christ Jesus
ADA — New Life Church of the Apostolic Faith offers lessons on the Diety of Christ Jesus Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 1003 E. 32nd Street, next door to Pete’s Catfish. For more information, phone 436-1765.
Best of Israel tour scheduled Oct. 20-29
STRATFORD — Charles McGregor, pastor of New Beginnings Church at Stratford, hosts a 10-day inspirational tour of Israel Oct. 20-29. The tour group will visit Caesarea, Megiddo, Nazareth, Capernaum, Dan, Philippi, Mount of Beatitudes, Jordan River Baptism site, Beth Shean, Dead Sea, Masada, Ein Gedi, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Rockefeller Museum, Garden Tomb, Pentecost, Israeli Museum, Holocaust Museum and Jesus’ Steps Last Days-Messianic Lecture. Jazz Ensemble to play
There will be a Jazz Ensemble playing at Annual Jazz and Burgers event to be held 6 p.m. May 31 at First United Methodist church on 129 W. 14th Street. Complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs and trimmings will be available. Rozzie Purdy will be playing the keyboard and a Jazz Ensemble will be joining her. Rosedale hours set for Memorial Day weekend
ADA – The City of Ada has established the Memorial Day holiday weekend schedule for Rosedale Cemetery for 2009. The schedule will be the same as in previous years.
Cemetery personnel will be available to assist visitors during the following hours:
- Saturday, May 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Sunday, May 24 from 1-4 p.m.
- Monday, May 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To help city personnel to properly maintain Rosedale Cemetery grounds, visitors are asked to remove flowers by June 9. This applies only to flowers that are placed directly on the ground. Cemetery personnel will not remove flowers that are placed in stones.
