Homecoming service to celebrate 115 years

CEDAR GROVE — Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church plans a homecoming service to celebrate 115 years as a congregation. The event will be Sunday July, 6.  Worship service begins at 11 a.m. 

Former pastors and members are encouraged to attend.  Guests are asked to take pictures and information about the history of the church if possible.  The Rev. Dean Stone will be the speaker for the morning service.

An old fashioned covered dish dinner will be served after the morning service. The plan is to have a singing and testimony service in the afternoon. 

The Rev. Willie White is pastor of Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church.



‘Guest Sunday’ set at St. Luke’s Church

ADA — On months containing a fifth Sunday, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, located at 17th and Broadway, combines two services into one service at 9:30 a.m. This provides the opportunity for members and friends to come together as one body in worship, but also to have fellowship by way of a lunch which follows the service. Members are encouraged to invite a friend to worship and to lunch. This Sunday’s lunch will employ the “picnic” theme, charcoaling hamburgers and hotdogs. St. Luke’s members are to take a sidedish or dessert that will complement this summer fare. The event is open to the public.



Gospel singing scheduled at park July 4

ADA — Fourth of July singing is 1:30 p.m. Wintersmith Park in Ada. Featured group is The Gooden Family and others. Those attending need to take lawn chairs.



Cosmic City VBS set at First Baptist

ADA — First Baptist Church of Ada, 521 S. Broadway, hosts Vacation Bible School theme “Cosmic City” for children ages 3 to fourth grade. For more information, phone Shawna or Melanie at 580-332-4121.



High Hill Baptist Church conducts VBS

ADA — High Hill Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School July 21-25 from 6-8:30 p.m. Pre-enroll Saturday July 19 from 1-3 p.m. Church officials invite area children to join the fun in this one week adventure on Outrigger Island: Living God’s Unshakeable Truth. Lighthouse Christian Academy enrolling

First Baptist Church hosts VBS

ADA — First Baptist Church of Ada, 521 S. Broadway, hosts Vacation Bible School for children in the Ada area July 14-18 from 6-8:30 p.m. Cosmic City is a fun and interactive learning experience for children ages 3 years to fourth grade. Children will explore the awesome wonder of God as they visit Tour stops throughout Cosmic City. Family Fun Night planned at Ada park

ADA — Life Community Church will have a Family Fun Night at Wintersmith Park in Ada June 29 at 6:30 p.m. They plan to have an evening of fellowship and enjoy the swimming pool, train rides, putt-putt golf and the kids carousel. All will be free of charge. Event planners ask participants to bring a carton of ice cream to share.



Lessons on the Diety of Christ Jesus slated

ADA — New Life Church of the Apostolic Faith offers special lessons on the gift of tongues in the book of Acts on the day of Pentecost Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The church is located at 1002 E 32nd Street, next door to Pete’s Catfish House. For more information, phone 436-1765.



Eagle’s Nest takes fall enrollment
