‘Love Is a Gift’ theme for conference

ADA — The 2009 ladies fall conference is 8:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at First Baptist Church of Ada, 521 S. Broadway. Keynote speaker is Debbie Stuart, director women’s ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Other speakers include Susie Hawkins and Mamie Thompson. Worship leader is April Clay.

Cost for registration before Sept. 1 is $15. After Sept. 1, registration cost is $20. Continental breakfast and lunch will be included in registration cost.



Gospel singing set at Konawa church

KONAWA — Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission, 332 W. North Street in Konawa, hosts a gospel singing at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25. The singing is open to the public. For more information, phone 580-925-2346.



First Baptist Church hosts Celebrate Life

ADA — On Sept. 11-12, First Baptist Church of Ada, 521 S. Broadway, hosts a Celebrate Life conference.

Special guest speaker is humorist Dr. W.E. “Bill” Thorn from San Angelo, Texas. He will be speaking on celebrating life - physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.  Dinner begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, and closing comments will be at 8:30 p.m. Breakfast Saturday, Sept. 12, beings at 8 a.m. and closing prayer is at 10:30 a.m.



Church hosts holiday bazaar

ADA — First Free Will Baptist Church, located at 15th and Ash in Ada, hosts its annual holiday bazaar Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. For booth reservations (while space is available), phone Emily Humble at 310-9911 or Penny Turner at 436-0707. Register by Sept. 25 and receive $5 off.



Church offers teachings on gift of tongues

ADA — New Life Church of the Apostolic Faith, 1002 E. 32nd Street, offers lessons on the deity of Christ Jesus Tuesday at 7 p.m.. Refreshments will be served. Phone 436-1765 for more information.



Senior forum program set

ADA — Trinity Baptist Church continues its monthly meetings on topics of special interest to senior adults in the Ada area. The next meeting is 1-2 p.m. Sept. 15 in the church fellowship center.

On the agenda for September is a presentation relating to long-term health care, options and approximate costs. The event is open to the public.

The forum will discontinue after the September meeting.

Revival scheduled at Ada Church

First United Methodist Church will be holding a two day Revival on Sept. 20-21. Guest Evangelist will be Dr. Eleanor Robinson who is the academic Dean of St. Paul’s School of Theology at OCU. Her general theme will be “The message of Wesley for our time.” United Methodist Women will host a coffee and conversation with Dr. Robinson at 10 a.m. on Monday. The Ardmore District Ministers will meet with Dr. Robinson on Monday also at 1 p.m. Nursery is provided at all services.

Gospel singing set at Francis

FRANCIS — A gospel singing will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at od's Little Cabin, 308 E. Main in Francis. It is open microphone night.



Special speaker at New Hope Lighthouse

STRATFORD — The Rev. John Smith, Lexington, will speak at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at New Hope Lighthouse, Stratford. He will return Sunday night, Sept. 20. Theme of his messages will be on the Holy Spirit. Pastors of the church are Richard and Connie Atzbach.
