Grief seminar scheduled at Baptist Church

Ada October 10, 2008 05:51 pm

A five-week Biblically based series on victory over grief will be held each Thursday from 7-8 p.m. beginning Oct. 23 in the Ada room of First Baptist Church, 521 S. Broadway. The seminar is free and open to the public.
The seminar will be presented by Grief Fellowship Ministries and Frontier Baptist Church of Ada. Host for the event is A.L.I.V.E. ministry of First Baptist Church of Ada.
Session topics include the following:
Oct. 23 — Understanding grief and how it affects physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Oct. 30 — Reaching inside yourself: Motivation to heal, recover and conquer pain.
Nov. 6 — Reaching out to others: Learn how to help, rather than hinder and leading children through their grief journey.
Nov. 13 — The practical philosophy of grief therapy.
Nov. 20 — Ten proven principles to grief victory: The answer.
Sponsors say the seminar gives an honest approach to subjects such as: Why did God do this? Will this pain ever go away: Can my marriage survive? and Is there really anything left worth living for?
The seminar is conducted in a casual setting with teacher/student atmosphere. Sponsors say this is a teaching session with practical solutions and honest answers. Although this is not a discussion group, there will be a time for questions and answers from the audience.
