Published October 17, 2009 01:15 am - David Randall Holladay of Norman and Steven Richard Hicks of Fresno, Calif., were married Sept. 6 at the Twin Palms Estate, Palm Springs, Calif., in the former home of Frank Sinatra. The formal ceremony followed their private exchange of vows and issuance of a marriage certificate in Los Angeles in July 2008.

David Randall Holladay of Norman and Steven Richard Hicks of Fresno, Calif., were married Sept. 6 at the Twin Palms Estate, Palm Springs, Calif., in the former home of Frank Sinatra. The formal ceremony followed their private exchange of vows and issuance of a marriage certificate in Los Angeles in July 2008.
David is the son of Don and Kay Holladay of Norman and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Randall Holladay and the late Wendell Smith and Maxine Smith-Russ.
Steven is the son of Richard Hicks of Battambang, Cambodia, and the Rev. C. Bunny Oliver of Beavercreek, Ore., and the grandson of Evelyn Hicks and the late James Hicks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nidever.
Mothers Kay Holladay and Bunny Oliver co-led the wedding celebration ceremony before the two families. The couple was escorted by their fathers, Don Holladay and Richard Hicks.
Honor attendants were Pamela Spycher of Davis, Calif., escorted by Thierry Spycher, and Michael Holladay of Norman, escorted by Angela Holladay.
Sibling attendants were Juliet Hicks of Milwaukie, Ore., escorted by Joshua Hicks-Doan; Rebecca Campbell of Central Point, Ore., escorted Jay Campbell; Rebecca Holladay of Los Angeles, escorted by Dakota Spycher; Samara Wolcott of Kirkland, Wash., escorted by Alan Donald; Thea Hicks-Fabian of Fresno, Calif., escorted by Eduardo Fabian; Hope Hicks of Chicago, escorted by Mark Holden; and Amelia Hicks of Honolulu, escorted by Joshua Hicks-Doan.
Steven's sisters Pamela, Juliet, Rebecca, Samara, Thea, Hope and Amelia sang "I'm Glad There is You," accompanied by guitarist Alberto de Almar. David's siblings, Michael and Rebecca, joined the sisters in a blessing, spoken in unison. Parents of David and Steven spoke their blessings to the couple.
Nathaniel Holladay of Norman was the ring bearer and Ines Fabian and her mother Thea Hicks-Fabian performed a brief white sage ritual at the beginning the ceremony. A dinner reception at the Twin Palms Estate immediately followed the ceremony.
David is a 1982 graduate of Norman High School and attended the California Institute of the Arts in the study of acting. He is a part-time non-profit consultant.
Steven is a 1981 graduate of Fresno High School. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a bachelor's degree in economics. He holds a master's degree in early childhood education from California State University at Los Angeles. He is employed as the special assistant on Early Learning at the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C., where the couple resides.
