Published November 05, 2009 12:15 am - Gala Van Eaton's collage "Go Ye" has been selected as the Purchase Prize Award winner in the NorthHaven Society for the Sacred Arts' first Sacred Arts Exhibition and Contest at NorthHaven Church. Van Eaton received a cash award and trophy, and her piece will become a permanent part of the church's sacred arts collection. Van Eaton received a cash award and trophy, and her piece will become a permanent part of the church's sacred arts collection. The contest drew about 30 entries which were displayed throughout October. Entries that placed in each division were: · Child Artist 1st -- Gage Foreman's pen and ink, "God's World -- 7th Day" · Amateur Artist First --Nathan Brown's colored photograph on canvas, "Father Roca -- Chimayo" Second -- Nic Taylor's oil painting, "Colors of Christ" Third -- Mitch Randall's color photograph on canvas, "In His Eyes" Honorable mention -- Ashlie Stanberry's sepia photograph, "Chimayo Snow" · Professional class First -- Gala Van Eaton's collage, "Go Ye" Second -- Don Schooler's mixed media, "Jesus Wept" Third -- Norma Brown's oil painting, "The Potter's Hands" Honorable mention --Dore Hill's mosaic, "In the Beginning"
