    LINCOLN, Neb. -- Everything was half right for Oklahoma.
    Like this blown up and framed poster of an old Sports Illustrated cover inside Memorial Stadium's press box. Commemorating the Game of the Century, a Husker and Sooner on the cover, here was the headline: "Irresistible Oklahoma meets immovable Nebraska.

    MOORE -- When Southmoore was struggling through a 2-8 season last year, Kendal Thompson knew the SaberCats were ready to play in big games. The junior quarterback said they just had to go out and prove it to everyone else.

    A year ago, Oklahoma's defensive philosophy wasn't rocket science. Just keep it simple summed it up the best.
    The Sooners didn't blitz much and the coverages were more about getting everyone on the same page instead of confusing opposing quarterbacks.
  • Jones player ineligible, Little Axe, Lexington move up
    Little Axe and Lexington got some good, though unexpected, news from the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Thursday.
    According to Little Axe coach Tony Smith, who was alerted of the decision Thursday evening, Jones quarterback Daxx Garman has been ruled ineligible by the OSSAA.
