Girls from around the county competed Tuesday in the Little Miss Fourth of July pageant, which has become a staple of the Oakboro Fourth of July festivities.
The contestants competed in eight Miss Fourth of July divisions, which included Infant Miss, Baby Miss, Wee Miss, Tiny Miss, Petite Miss, Little Miss, Junior Miss and Teen Miss.
Of the contestants in the Infant Miss category, Jordyn Sells was chosen, while Melanie Swink was named Baby Miss.
Ramya Johnson was named Wee Miss, while Brooklyn Dennis was named Tiny Miss.
Of the contestants in the Petite Miss division, Stella Griffin won the title, while Kallie Sells won the title of Little Miss. Kamry Whitley was named the Junior Miss and Jaime Allen was named Teen Miss.
Also receiving titles during the pageant were: Makayla Eudy, who was crowned Mini Miss Majestic; Heather Stancil, who was named Miss Majestic; and Shyane Burleson who was named Spirit Queen.
Reigning Miss Stanly County Fire Queen Samantha Hatley was the host for the event.
“We had 31 of Stanly County’s prettiest girls. The evening went wonderful, and I think it was a wonderful way to start the Fourth of July celebration,” said Amy Brundage, pageant director, which she has been for 13 years.
