Anniversaries: Oct. 18, 2009
Mr. and Mrs. Jim McKinney
Mr. and Mrs. Jim McKinney of Sullivan will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary during an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. today, Oct. 18, 2009, in Kingsley United Methodist Church at Fairbanks.
Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted, but cards are welcome.
The McKinneys were married Oct. 18, 1969, in the Congregational Christian Church at Eaton, Ill.
Mrs. McKinney, the former Carol Brashear, is chief executive officer of the Sullivan County Credit Union.
McKinney is a self-employed farmer. The couple also own and operate McKinney Petroleum Inc.
Hosts of the event are their children, Shawn and Chandra McKinney, and Travis and Natalie McKinney.
They also have three grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kleptz
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kleptz will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in their home with family.
Cards are welcome.
The couple were married Oct. 29, 1949, in Sacred Heart Church in Terre Haute.
Mrs. Kleptz is the former JoAnn Henske.
The couple have four sons, Michael and Patsy Kleptz, Pat and Joan Kleptz, Tim and Karan Kleptz, and Dan and Janet Kleptz.
They also have 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Thornton
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Thornton of Terre Haute will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.
They will renew their marriage vows today in New Life Fellowship Church with pastor Harpole officiating. Dinner will follow at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
The Thorntons were married Oct. 20, 1984, in Terre Haute. Mrs. Thornton is a surgical nurse at Union Hospital. Thornton is a reach driver for Staples Distribution Center.
The couple have one son, Michael J. Seybold and wife Tara of Indianapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Russell Gregg
Mr. and Mrs. W. Russell Gregg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.
The Greggs were married Oct. 26, 1959, in Bob Bousman’s home at Terre Haute.
Mrs. Gregg, the former Betty Knuckles, is a homemaker.
Gregg is retired from Sun Chemical in Frankfort.
The couple have four children, 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter.
