ISU men's basketball uses balanced attack to get exhibition win over University of Indianapolis

A whole lot of balance and a whole lot of quality depth not seen in these parts in recent years enabled Indiana State to overpower Indianapolis 82-67 in a men’s college basketball exhibition game Saturday in Hulman Center.....more>>

  • Injuries added to insult for Indiana State football
For the last six weeks, the Indiana State football team has been a picture of good health.
On Saturday, ISU’s luck ran out with a vengeance.

  • Two of the NFL's best, Wayne and Johnson have special bond
For Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson, it’s all about “The U”.
Wayne and Johnson, both former standouts at the University of Miami, are two of the elite wide receivers in the National Football League, and their styles are vastly different.

  • No. 24 Wisconsin football survives IU rally
This loss may not have mattered as much to a different Indiana football team. But in a season where four Big Ten games have seemingly been a play away from victory, Saturday’s 31-28 loss to No. 24 Wisconsin at Memorial Stadium simply compounded the heartbreak.

  • Casey football cruises to set up Clark County rematch
Billy Seeley rushed for three touchdowns and 133 yards — nearly five times the rushing yardage the entire home team amassed — as visiting Casey defeated Red Bud 43-7 Saturday in an Illinois Class 2A high school football playoff game.

  • Marshall moves on in Illinois 2A football playoffs
Marshall recorded its third shutout of the high school football season Saturday, defeating Williamsville 16-0 in a second-round Illinois Class 2A playoff game. The Lions have won 10 in a row since losing the season opener to Casey and will face the Warriors in a quarterfinal contest at Casey.

  • ISU women wrap up exhibtion play today vs. Southern Indiana
Indiana State’s women’s basketball team will host its second consecutive NCAA Division II team as they wrap up exhibition play today. Southern Indiana will oppose the Sycamores at 2:05 p.m. inside Hulman Center.

  • Transformed Miners take out No. 5 Cougars for third straight sectional title
Linton completed the comeback few believed possible Friday night, coming from behind in the fourth quarter to upset Class A No. 5-ranked North Daviess 28-24 at Roy Williams Field in Linton.

  • Big plays hurt Rockville in sectional championship
Visiting Rockville fell victim to several big plays Friday night as third-ranked Fountain Central won the Class A Sectional 39 high school football championship game by a 39-0 score.

  • Sanders, Jackson placed on injured reserve
The injury bug continues to haunt the Indianapolis Colts. Team officials confirmed Friday that both cornerback Marlin Jackson and safety Bob Sanders have been placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
