Ashlee Phillips weds Pvt. Dean Douglas

ADA — Ashlee Phillips, Ada, and Pvt. Dean Douglas, Francis, were united in marriage May 23, 2009, at Ada Arts and Heritage Center in Ada. Justin McDaniel officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Shirley Phillips, Ada. Grandparents are Claude Arterburn and the late Ethelyne Arterburn. She is also the granddaughter of the late Hoot Houchen.
Parents of the bridegroom are George and ReDenia Douglas, Francis. He is the grandson of Jim and Peggy Parks, Francis; Richard and Sharlet Kemler, Cleburne, Texas; and Jacquelyn Beauchamp, Watauga, Texas; and the late Marshall Beauchamp.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Gary Phillips. Maid of Honor was Chelsi Reed. Usherettes/candle lighters were Karissa Threet and Amanda Bushell. Flower girls were Alexis Haynes and Rylee Haynes, nieces of the bridegroom. Ring Bearer was Brody Douglas, son of the bride and bridegroom. Cody Haynes, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. The guest register and program attendant was Judy Houchen, aunt of the bride. Clareca Bishop, aunt of the bride, lit additional ceremony candles prior to the processional.
The Heritage center staircase leading to the bridal suite was decorated with white spiral wood candlesticks topped with tube style candleholders, white roses and ivy cascading from the hand tied white tulle bows, created and designed by the father and godfather of the bride, Gary Phillips and Jerry Sellers.
The bridal bouquet and other floral arrangements were prepared by Rhonda Sellers, Doretta Sellers, godmother of the bride, and the parents of the bride. A power point presentation of the bride and groom’s childhood photos preceded the ceremony and was created by Justin McDaniel.
Musical arrangements for the ceremony were presented by Michael Lawrence, cousin of the bride. Coordination of the processional was provided by Sonya McDaniel and Doyalyne Gardner, cousin of the bride. The bride made her entrance to the traditional “Bridal March” performed by pianist Doretta Sellers, godmother of the bride.
The bride's parents hosted the buffet style reception meal. Servers were Teresa Jones, April Odell, Sonya McDaniel, all friends of the bride, and Doretta Sellers, godmother of the bride.
Capturing the event in photography was by Rob and Amy Arrington, sister and brother-in-law of the bride. Wedding videographers were Kim Byars and Lynn Jones.
The bridegroom returned to San Diego, Calif., to continue his military training. The bride is making their home in Ada.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Doc’s Steak House on May 21.
