Megan Roberts marries Jacob Reid

ADA — Exchanging wedding vows June 13, 2009, were Megan Roberts and Jacob Reid, both of Oklahoma City. Steve Wilburn officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony at First Christian Church, Ada.

Parents of the bride are Chuck and Lynda Roberts, Fitzhugh. Grandparents are Velta Wingard, Fitzhugh, and the late Harold Wingard; and Dara Carter.

The bridegroom is the son of Brian and Sherri Reid, Oklahoma City. He is the grandson of Bernice Moates, Oklahoma City.

Chuck Roberts gave his daughter in marriage.

Matrons of honor were Michael Clement and Randi Howard, both of Ada. Bridesmaids were Madison Robbins, Los Angeles, Calif., Hialee Howard, Barbara Miller, both of Ada, and Karen Reid, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Oklahoma City.

Best man was Josh Reid, brother of the bridegroom, Oklahoma City. Groomsmen were Christian Windham, Jason Wright and Zac Bradford, all of Oklahoma City, Zac Moates, cousin of the bridegroom, Oklahoma City, and Michael Roberts, Fitzhugh, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Zac Farris and Justin Webb, both of Oklahoma City.

Caleb Reid and Jordan Reid, nephews of the bridegroom, were ring bearers. Candle lighters were Hunter Jones and Abbigail Smith.

Vocalists Brittany Dawn and Stephanie Rhynes sang "1,000 Miles." Rudy Lupinski was their accompanist. He also played the organ.

Lea Ann Pettigrew and Lee Miller hosted a reception at Fossil Creek. Assisting were Taylor Anderson, Taylor Howard and Katie Caudle, all of Ada, and Shelby O'Neal, Murfreesboro, Tenn.

After the wedding the couple departed in a horse-drawn surrey driven by Dale Myers. Following a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is at home in Oklahoma City.

The couple was honored May 2 with a shower at the home of Anna Robbins. Hostesses were Anna Robbins, Lea Ann Pettigrew, Lee Miller, Terry Cooper, Deanna Compton, Jami Knighten, Ann Mayes and Shana Crosby.

Members of Fitzhugh Baptist Church hosted a shower May 31.

On May 17, a shower was hosted in Oklahoma City by Ann Moates, Kaleah Moates and Karen Reid.
